Site selection - The new Royal Children's Hospital project
| Extensive consultation with the medical and Victorian community determined that locating the new Royal Children’s Hospital to the immediate west of the existing hospital would best meet the needs of sick children and their families. Research has demonstrated the impact of nature in reducing stress and assisting in healing. As a hospital in a park and a park in a hospital, the new RCH’s design is part of a research-based holistic approach that uses nature as an important part of the healing process for children. The new RCH’s location in Parkville, Victoria’s largest medical research and technology precinct, encourages research collaboration and ensures children have access to world-class treatment. |
